Our current progress is that we are matched with a couple, I've completed the MMPI (psychological test) and passed and am leaving for medical screening tomorrow. Screening is Monday (bloodwork, ultrasound, etc) but I'm going early to spend some time with my IPs. After that, we'll start working on contracts and get those finalized. Then I'll get a timeline for meds. They have selected an egg donor and she will be going through this process as well.
They are hoping for a late summer transfer so I'm thinking August/September. Which will work great for me since I have two kiddos' birthdays in July. Meds are typically started about 6 weeks prior to transfer. I'm not really clear on exactly how it works yet but it will be IVF with fresh embies and I know I'll be doing Estrace, Lupron and progesterone injections. NOT looking forward to those hormones!
We will most likely be putting in two embies and hoping for twins. My IPs really want twins but do NOT want triplets (and I really don't want a triplet pregnancy) so unless the embies are bad quality, it will be two put in.
The RE is in Connecticut which is just about an hour train ride up from NYC so it'll be really nice to be able to see them both this weekend and when we go for the transfer. I only have to go there twice, and any other appointments I have will be with an RE here. I get released to the OB of my choice once I hit 12 weeks.
