7w2d Ultrasound

Our first ultrasound was today and it went fantastic! We saw one little bean, measuring ahead, with a super strong heart! It was such a great moment for the guys to be here for it and I'm so glad they came. They whipped out their iPhones and recorded the sound of the heartbeat, it was so sweet. And, what a weight off my shoulders to know there's a baby in there growing and thriving. Yay.

I will admit that I was slightly disappointed that we didn't see twins. I know, I know, I should be happy for the one we did get! And I am. So beyond happy that I can hardly contain it. One baby will be so much easier for the guys to handle, and will be worlds easier on my body. But this wouldn't be an accurate depiction of my journey if I wasn't honest about my thoughts and feelings throughout the whole process, right? I guess I just sort of wanted to be in the special "club" of women who get the unique experience of carrying multiples. Maybe next time. ;)
